If you want to send a special price to a guest, you can send them a special offer.
The process for sending a special offer differs slightly depending on whether you're sending one for an enquiry, a pending booking request or a change request.
Enquiries
To send a special offer for a booking enquiry, follow these steps...
Go to your Inbox and select the conversation linked to the enquiry
Select Send Special Offer at the top of the page
Add the total price for the entire stay, including any cleaning fees, extra people fees and any other extra charges
If required, you can also edit the booking dates and/or number of people
Send the special offer
The booking status will change to pre-approved
The customer will then have 24 hours to accept the special offer and complete their booking. Because the booking is pre-approved, it will be confirmed instantly.
Note that your calendar will remain open if you send a special offer for an enquiry. This is because an enquiry is not an actual booking, so leaving the dates open means you still have the opportunity to receive booking requests for those dates.
If the customer does not accept the special offer and complete their booking within 24 hours, the special offer will expire.
Booking Requests
Sometimes, you might need to make a price adjustment to a booking after someone has already sent through a booking request. If you need to do this, do not accept the booking. First, make sure you first communicate with the customer about the price change and make sure they are happy to proceed. If they agree, then you can send a special offer for the new price.
To send a special offer for a pending booking request, follow these steps...
Go to your Inbox and select the conversation linked to the booking request
Select Send Special Offer from the Actions menu, below the booking details
Add the total price for the entire stay, including any cleaning fees, extra people fees and any other extra charges
Send the special offer
The guest will then have 24 hours to accept the special offer and complete their booking.
Note that your calendar will remain blocked when you send a special offer for a pending booking request so make sure you've communicated the price change with the customer ahead of time.
Change Requests
If a booking is already confirmed, but you want to change the dates or number of people AND give a special price for the booking change, you can submit a change request and add a special offer. See Changing a booking (for hosts) for more information on this.
