Referring a Friend

Accessing Refer a Friend

You can refer a friend to Riparide by logging into your Riparide account and selecting your profile in the top right hand corner. You'll see the option "Refer a Friend", which will take you to your referral page.

Generate your unique referral voucher

Select the "Refer a Friend" button at the top of the page, and enter your friend's details and a personalised message. Tap create voucher, and you're good to go! This will generate their unique voucher they can use on their first successful booking with Riparide. You will then have the option to share their referral voucher via a shareable link, or via email.

This voucher can only be used once, so you'll need to create a new referral for each person you want to refer to Riparide. Each referral voucher will be valid for 6 months from the date you create the voucher.

Track your referrals

Wondering how your referral is going? You can view your referrals on the My Referrals page, which you can access via the "Invite a Friend" option in your profile. You'll see which referrals are currently in progress, and which are completed.

You can share in progress referrals if someone has misplaced their voucher, and for completed referrals you'll be able to access your voucher you received for referring a friend.

My friend lost their referral voucher!

No worries – it happens! Head to your In Progress referrals on the My Referrals page, and you'll see a Share button next to their referral. If you tap the share button, you'll be able to send the referral again.

Eligibility for Referral

For a referral to be valid, it must be applied to the first successful booking of the person you've referred. If they currently have a booking request or a booking in progress, the referral code won't be valid. If they've previously had a cancelled or declined booking, they'll still be able to use their referral voucher.

If the person you've referred has another Riparide account they've previously used to make bookings, they won't be able to use the referral code. You can't refer yourself, and a host can't send a referral voucher to book their own property.

Voucher Currency and Expiry

A referral voucher will be generated in the local currency of the person who created the referral. Vouchers can only be used to make bookings in the local currency of the voucher – for example, if you're based in Australia, your referral voucher will be generated in AUD and can only be used for bookings in Australia. If you need to change the currency of a referral voucher, please contact our support team at [email protected].

A referral voucher is valid for 6 months from the date it's created. We can't extend referral vouchers, so if you've referred someone and their voucher has expired before they had the chance to use it, you'll need to create a new referral.

Using a referral voucher

Awesome – someone has referred you to use Riparide! You'll receive a voucher via email or a shareable link. It's valid for 6 months from the date the person your friend created the referral. You'll have a unique code which can be used on your first booking on Riparide.

How to use a voucher

  • Head to the accommodation listing

  • Select the dates you wish to book for

  • Tap "Request to Book"

  • You will be taken to a page where it asks for your credit card information - enter your credit card details (even if your voucher covers the entire booking fee, you will need to enter your credit card details for security reasons)

  • Under the credit card section, there is a button that says "I have a gift voucher"

  • Tap the button and enter your voucher code

  • If you have another voucher you wish to use, another button will appear that says "Use another gift voucher". Tap this button, and you'll be able to enter a second voucher code.

My referral voucher isn't working!

If your friend has referred you to Riparide and your voucher isn't working, there might be a few reasons for this. Please check the following:

  • Is the voucher expired? The expiry date will be listed on the link or email you received. Check the voucher is within the expiry date – if the voucher expired before you had a chance to use it, you can ask your friend to refer you again.

  • Have you made a booking with Riparide previously? If you've previously completed a booking, or have a booking requested or in progress, you won't be eligible to use the referral voucher. This isn't limited to just the email you received the referral on, if you've booked using the same credit card under a different email, you won't be able to use your referral voucher.

  • Is the person who referred you a host on Riparide? If so, you won't be able to book their property using your referral voucher. You can book any other listing on Riparide that isn't hosted by them using this voucher.

  • Is the voucher in your local currency? If the person who referred you lives in a different country to you, or you're trying to book a property outside of your country, the voucher may be in the wrong currency. Contact [email protected] and we'd be happy to help you out!

Voucher rewards for referring a friend

When your friend completes their booking, you'll receive a voucher as a reward. This will be sent once they've successfully completed their booking, 24 hours after they've travelled.

Finding a voucher reward

Under the "Invite a Friend" tab, you'll be able to see your referrals. You can switch over to the completed view to see any referrals that have successfully been completed. Here, you'll be able to view your voucher rewards next to the referral. You'll also receive your voucher via email.

If your reward voucher isn't working, please check the expiry date. If your reward voucher has expired, unfortunately we're not able to extend it.

My friend has completed their booking, but I haven't received my voucher!

Please allow 24 hours after your friend checks out for your voucher to come through. If after 24 hours you've checked your emails and My Referrals page and you're still not able to see your voucher, please contact [email protected].
